Salvete. This was a wonderful experience, but I must stop making my big announcements as I have to Egypt to seek shelter from King Ptolemy. This might not be last comment, but if it is, it was nice knowing all of you. I am now prepared to take step on land and leave the boat. Valete, amici.
Sorry for you and good luck to you Pompey.

I think you are doing what is best for Rome. Also you killed my husband, so I will wish you luck, but I will never be your best of friend.

Plutarch. “Plutarch on The Life of Pompey." Sir Thomas Browne. http://penelope.uchicago.edu/Thayer/E/Roman/Texts/Plutarch/Lives/Pompey*.html (accessed May 2, 2011).
Description: This primary source by Plutarch gives a very detailed account on the life of Pompey.
Scipio Africanus, Thank you for your complement. However, I give all my credit to my loyal soldiers who helped me conquer Spain, Syria, and Palestine. The only reason I lost to Caesar is because I haven't fought for ten years and my soldiers' loyalty had cooled down, and they lost battle skills. You were a great leader Africanus, and defeated the talented Hannibal. So I also congratulate you.
ReplyDeletePompey, I have proven to be victorious. I followed you to Egypt when you fled from, but you were killed without my approval. I arrived shortly after your death. I was truly appalled by the manner of your death. I, as your old friend, even shed genuine tears for your death. I want you to know that I offered help to your friends and supporters who had been arrested by Ptolemy XIII after your death. Despite the fact that we had become enemies, you were truly a valuable friend to me. I wish that things could have turned out in a better way. Vale, amice.

I am sorry Scipio but I accidentally thought you were your father. You finally defeated Carthage, not the great Hannibal. However, you are still as magnificent as you father.
